Haha, yes, you need to see enough of the house to decide if you're interested... And I recognise that style: it's how a poor person thinks that rich people live.
The thing is that we did not give it that much thought when we bought this house. Instead of a house that we really wanted, this was a house we could afford that ticked the boxes. And after 19 years I'm still not super enthusiastic about this house: it's not my ideal, but I could have lived here for quite some time before moving on to something else. We just made it work for us. So the nostalgia is not so much tied to the place itself.
